Three beautiful ways that ‘Choice’ showed up for me last week.
Do you ever have those weeks where the same word or theme keeps popping up? Well, that was last week for me.
CHOICE.
Three times it popped up and inspired me to think differently. First up….
1. Abbie, Edith and a book
Did you read Abbie’s beautiful words on her health journey in last week’s FGF? No? Catch it here.
Abbie read Edith Eger’s book, The Choice, leading her on a path of self discovery making huge changes to health and movement so that she could live life fully.
I love all of Abbie’s book recommendations so once she sent me her draft words to send to you all, I searched out the book and dove straight in and couldn’t put it down.
I highly recommend. It’s a hard read from a Holocaust survivor but my, does it serve you some life lessons.
We all have a choice; how we react, how we think, how we be, how we hope, how we treat ourselves and others. Beautiful words about the most horrifying circumstances and the the road through hope to forgiveness.
That book has left a mark on me for sure.
2. Your choice to be confident
Next up, a podcast popped up for me. Begin Again with Davina McCall and a conversation with Susie Moore discussing how to be confident, and you’ve guessed it….
CHOICE.
And how we have a choice to show up to be ourselves and be confident. An inspiring lesson on how our mindset sets our path.
Listen here, it’s a good one.
3. She Shares - when women gather…
And then finally, I went to my first SHE SHARES women’s networking event. Now, I detest networking. But this was different. I was rather proud that I showed up and met the most glorious women from all walks of small business life. Delicious.
And giving a wonderful talk and inspiration for the evening was Nicky Bevan - Life Coach. And you’ve guessed it again. It was about…
CHOICE;
The choice to quiet our minds on negative self talk. A choice on how we show up for ourselves. Choice on how we approach things that make us nervous or are way out of our comfort zone.
Because when we make that choice to speak to ourselves in a much kinder way, we really become unstoppable. Which of course I bloody loved.
And as we departed to Sia’s song, Unstoppable, I really did feel like I could take on the world.
Thank you universe!
So that’s it; the universe definitely telling me something, and now, hopefully you too.
We all have a choice. And gees…. that is a powerful thing.
We’ve been here before…
And it made me think back to a time when I was wading through a deep, snowy powder run one winter ski season. Even though I was stuck thigh deep trying to ski out, sweating and mildly panicking, I simply stopped.
The sky was blue, the snow amazing. And I turned to the friends that we were with that live there full time and said, you’re so f**king lucky.
And she said no, we all make choices.
How right was she.
So go…..make choices. It might just set you on a whole outlook on life.
